Geraldine I. Nunn
Geraldine I. Nunn, 89, of Hazel Hurst, passed away Sunday (January 27, 2019) at UPMC-Kane.
Born January 24, 1930, in Rew, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Kittie Miles Raught. On June 14, 1950, in Port Allegany, she married Fred C. Nunn who preceded her in death.
Geraldine graduated from Hazel Hurst High School in 1948 and the Olean Business Institute in 1977. She worked at Speer's Carbon Co. for 20 years and retired from the Lutheran Home at Kane at the age of 69.
Along with her husband, she owned and operated the Antler Restaurant in Hazel Hurst for 10 years and the Hazel Hurst Water Co. for many years. She enjoyed her family, walking her dog, sewing, crafting and mowing. In later years, she loved doing word search and jig saw puzzles. She loved animals of all kind.
Geraldine was a member of the Hazel Hurst United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, JoEllen (Thomas) Eck of Hazel Hurst and Deborah (Brooks) Dodge of Port St. Lucie, FL; four sisters, Mary Walker of El Cajon, CA, Esther Johnson of Lewis Run, Carol Stroup of Mt. Jewett and Adda (Dale) Swanson of Smethport; a brother, Guy (Kay) Raught of Hazel Hurst; two sisters-in-law, Edie Raught and Shirley Raught, both of Smethport; two brothers-in-law, Lanny (Pat) Nunn of Port Allegany and David Higley; and two grandsons, Matthew Eck and Scott Eck, both of Port Allegany.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Klein; four brothers, William, Donald, Thomas and Richard Raught; an infant grandson, Jeffrey Eck; three brothers-in-law, Claude Klein, Axel Johnson and Richard Walker; and three sisters-in-law. Kaye Raught, Margaret Raught and Fran Raught.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane Friday from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon where funeral services will follow with the Rev. Cindy Duffee, pastor of the Hazel Hurst United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Clermont Cemetery.
