Carl A. Anderson
Carl A. Anderson, 82, of Kane, passed away Tuesday (December 11, 2018) at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born March 12, 1936, in Kane, he was a son of the late Frederick and Ruth (Anderson) Anderson.
Carl was a Medical Service Superintendent. He set up field hospitals during the Vietnam War and continued in that line of work for our military in other countries. He served in the Air Force for thirty years. After his military service, he worked for many years as a researcher for the Georgia Archives. He was an expert on southern banking and confederate currency and authored many technical articles and research documents.
Carl had a passion for history and research, collecting historic postcards and documents pertaining to the history of Kane and other places he had lived.
Surviving are a sister, Elizabeth Savoia of Erie; a brother, Fred (Connie) Anderson of Kane; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Evelyn Miller, Genevieve Cooley, Mildred Myers and Marie Ryder; and two brothers, Harry Anderson and Paul Anderson.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
A memorial service will be held at a future date to be announced.
