Ruth M. Hamilton
Ruth M. Hamilton, 64, of 152 West Main St., Mt. Jewett, passed away Friday (August 24, 2018) at her residence.
A daughter of the late Lavern and Katherine Thomas Causer, she was born December 8, 1953, in Kane.
Ruth had formerly been employed by Keystone Thermestor.
Known as "Mama Ruth" by many, she was active in the organization of many events such as the teen dances in Hazel Hurst and Cyclone and the start of the "Hot Food for Cold Fishermen." She also managed fundraisers for the initial phase of the Hamlin Township Park and for the sign at Kasson Cemetery.
She was a past member of the Hamlin Twp. Fire Department and the Hilltop VFD.
Surviving are two sons, Robert "Hammy" (Jennifer Moore) Hamilton Jr. of Cyclone and Charles "Chooch" (Mistey Stahli) Hamilton of Mt. Jewett; a daughter, Robin Rankin of Kane; two sisters, Carol Wareham of Mt. Jewett and Becky Causer of Bradford; grandchildren, Leah, Kylie, Ajaya, Gaige,Kinley, Kruze and Kamry; and a great-grandson, Lukas. She also will be missed by her loving fur baby, Tippie.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, are her paternal grandparents Claude and Jennie Causer, her maternal grandparents, Charles and Ruth Thomas; and her brother-in-law, Eugene "Mike" Wareham.
The family will be receiving friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home with Linda Eschrich officiating. Burial will be in Bridgeview Cemetery at a later date.
