Mildred B. Morelli, 93, previously of Ludlow, died Thursday morning at the Lutheran Home at Kane where she had more recently resided. She was born Aug. 13, 1924 in St. Marys, PA, the daughter of the late Fred and Dolores (Sporner) Hoffman and on July 4, 1955 in St. Marys, she married Leo Morelli, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Morelli attended St. Marys Catholic grade school and graduated in 1942 from Central Catholic High School. She was a RN graduate of St. Vincents Hospital School of Nursing in Erie in 1945 and was employed at Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. She was also the office nurse for Dr. A.C. Luhr for 10 years and then after she married was employed at Warren General Hospital for 20 years. She had lived in Ludlow since 1955 and was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church. After her retirement she was a caregiver for her mother for 18 years.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, including Mary Lou Schutz and Lori (Dan) Schreiber of St. Marys and Trudy (Bill) Lorenzo of Ludlow and also special friends Becky and Dan Davidson of Ludlow.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother Hilary Hoffman.
Friends will be received on Monday (July 23) from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Gathering Space at St. Callistus Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. William O'Brien, pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will take place in the mausoleum at St Callistus Cemetery.
