Ellen E. Forsyth, 74, of 19 Anderson Street, Mt. Jewett, passed away Friday (June 22, 2018) at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Dan Boyer, of 205 Maple Street, Kane.
Born March 14, 1944, in Binghampton, NY, she was a daughter of David and Margaret Mogridge Mead. On July 27, 1963, in Great Bend, she married Jerry Forsyth who preceded her in death.
Ellen was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she was a lector and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She belonged to the Mt. Jewett Senior Center and was an avid shopper. She also was actively involved with her grandchildren and her many friends.
Surviving are three daughters, Lisa (Jonna) Forsyth of Converse, TX, Susan (Don) Todd of Seminole, FL and Julie (Dan) Boyer of Kane; seven grandchildren; her mother Margaret Mead of Forest City; two brothers, Eddie Mead and Ray Mead; two sisters, Lois Davy and Debbie Benson; several nieces and nephews; and numerous life-long friends. She will be greatly missed by her beloved cat, Sam.
In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by a son, John Forsyth; a granddaughter, Alyssa Forsyth; and a sister, Marcie Mead.
Friends will be received Saturday from 10:00 am to noon at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mt. Jewett with the Rev. Vincent Cieslewicz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bridgeview Cemetery.
