Lorraine "Bea" Thornton, 84, of W. Main Street, Mt. Jewett, died Sunday (April 29, 2018) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
She was born August 13, 1933, to the late Merlin and Mildred Rogers Paul. She was married in Limestone, NY, to Robert Thornton who survives.
Bea was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are five daughters, Donna (Tim) Ingersoll of Indiana, Elizabeth (Ralph) Carpenter of Bradford, Dawn (Jeff) Bootes of Erie, Mary (Robert) Arthurs of Mt. Jewett and Laurie Thornton of Bradford; three sons, Dennis (Sue) Champion of Marvindale, Robert (Lori) Thornton Jr. and David Thornton, both of Mt. Jewett; four sisters, Ann Trumbull of Lewis Run, Mary Lou Bernhard of Westline, Donna Nelson and Judy Somers, both of Kane; three brothers, Richard Paul of Kane, Raymond Paul of Hutchins and James Paul of Kane; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Champion; a daughter, Nancy Champion; a granddaughter, Heather Champion; an infant grandson, Zane Buzard; and three brothers, Sonny, Robert and Bill Paul.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Nebo Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Jewett Ambulance; the Mt. Jewett VFD; or a charity of choice.
