Charles Zimmerman, 74, of 426 West Wind Rd., passed away Sunday (March 18, 2018) at UPMC Hamot.
Born February 21, 1944, in Ridgway, he was a son of the late Mike and Hilda VanTassel Zimmerman. On January 28, 1973, in Kane, he married Barb Cournean who preceded him in death.
Mr. Zimmerman had been employed at the former Kane Handle. He was a member of the FOE Aerie#307 and the VFW Lodge #1132, both in Kane. He also belonged to the Wilcox Legion and the Wilcox Sportsman's Club.
Surviving are five daughters, Tracy (Jerry VanDervoort) Stufflebeam of Kane, Terri (Jim) Carey of Kane, Lori (Michael) Vernatter of Welsh, WV, Joni Lewis of Kane and Ida (Eric) Schuler of Bradford; two sons, Kim (Barbara Brubaker-Wingert) Zimmerman of Alaska and Keith Zimmerman of Chambersburg; his companion for ten years, Shirley Hemsley of Kane; two brothers, Bobby Zimmerman of Greensburg and Donnie Zimmerman of Smethport; and three sisters, Kay Lubash of Greensburg, Sandy Myers of Wilcox and Jane Zimmerman of New Jersey.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
