Josephine D. Lauer
Josephine D. Lauer, 86, formerly of Chestnut Street, passed away Friday (November 17, 2017) at the Lutheran Home at Kane where she was a recent resident.
Born March 15, 1931, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Bonadio Dicello. In 1970, in Kane, she married Lloyd Lauer who preceded her in death.
Following her retirement from Stackpole, Jo devoted the next 30 years to volunteer work at the blood bank, Lutheran Home at Kane, the food bank, the Salvation Army and she also volunteered for hospice work.
As a loyal and active member of St. Callistus Catholic Church, she taught religious education classes for many years and also made communion calls to the shut-ins of the parish.
Jo is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Karen Croyle of Corry, Jennifer (Jeff) Lindquist of Kane and Nathan Croyle of Salisbury, MD.
She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by four brothers and two sisters.
A memorial mass will be held at a future date to be announced.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Callistus Church, 342 Chase St., Kane, PA 16735, or to a charity of choice.
