John E. Rook
John E. "Jack" Rook, 76, of 417 Biddle Street, passed away Tuesday (November 14, 2017) at UPMC Hamot.
Born January 10, 1941, in Kane, he was a son of the late Harry and Marie Summerson Rook. On June 1, 1959, in Kane, he married Marianne Knapp who survives.
Jack worked for Wahlberg's Dairy as a teenager and was later employed by IPSCO and Vineyard Oil and Gas. He then started and operated Mobilecomputrain, a computer repair business, that he ran until his retirement.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Marianne are two sons, William (Amy Johnson) Rook and John (Marianne) Rook, both of Kane; a daughter, Susan (John) Huntzinger of Kane; five grandchildren, Tessa (Chris) Kalwasinski, Allison (Joseph) Saquin, Jordan Huntzinger, Sydney Huntzinger and John (Kalli) Rook; three great-grandsons, Luke Kalwasinski, Carter Saquin, Brady Rook; four great-granddaughters, Marissa Kalwasinski, Kendall Saquin, Riley Saquin and Quinn Rook; three brothers, James (Ruth) Rook of Brandon, FL, Gerald (Ginny) Rook of Kane and Michael (Sharon) Rook of Kane. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a sister, Cheryl Ann Rook; and two nephews, Steven Rook and Richie Rook.
Friends will be received from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday with the Rev. Calvin J. Cook, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
