Obituary for Dean Walters

Dean E. Walters
Dean E. Walters, 95, formerly of Ludlow, passed away Saturday (November 11, 2017) at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born February 4, 1922, in Miola, he was a son of the late Charles and Mae Swartzfegar Walters. On May 12, 1950, in Indiana, he married Marjorie Klawuhn who preceded him in death.
Dean served in the US Army during World War II where he fought at the Battle of the Bulge and returned as a member of the National Guard Occupational Troops where he served after the War.
He worked as a truck driver for National Fuel and was a member of Moriah Lutheran Church where he was the caretaker for many years. He also belonged to the Apple Cider Square Dance Club, The United Male Chorus of America and the Ludlow American Legion. For many years he helped operate the Kane Area Little League concession stand with his wife.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Walters of Ludlow and Terry Walters of Kane; a daughter, Judy Bennett of Kane; four sisters, Patricia (Eugene) Lucia of Kane; Virginia Zeedar and Lauren (Tom) Okruch both of Ludlow and Marion (Jack) McClintock of Waterford; a brother, Robert (Andrea) Lundeen of Cambridge Springs; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Gary (Janet) Baumgratz of Waterford.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his wife and Parents, are a son, Roger Walters; three brothers, Richard, Merle and Gerald Walters; and two sisters Beulah Kirsch and June Cadle.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am Wednesday.
